This is a late 50's era CH-3 transport helicopter. Taken at the Carolinas Aviation Museum. This Sikorsky CH-3 was used in 1986 to assist in the recovery efforts following the explosion of the Space Shuttle Challenger on launch. Three shots at 0 and +/-2ev were combined in Photomatix and enhanced with Topaz Adjust. Here is the interior.
The S-61 airframe first flew in 1963 and was modified to the S-61R for the Air Force subsequent to the Navy version.
